Radio equipment needs certification where you live (FCC, CE, UKCA, ISED, Anatel). Some devices are uncertified or restricted in Brazil. Buyers are responsible for their local law.

Bring along
Band-matched antenna, USB data cable and matching firmware target.
Keep in mind
GNSS and battery are separate; V4 and V4-R8 pin assignments differ.

What’s published

Schematics published

Heltec publishes a schematic PDF, datasheet, and pin map for each hardware revision; no editable KiCad/Altium source is published.

Research notes

Board has two current hardware variants: V4 (ESP32-S3R2, 16MB flash) and V4 R8 (ESP32-S3R8, GPIO differs — see wiki hardware-update-log). Both schematic PDFs verified live (200) on resource.heltec.cn as of 2026-09-27; only the HeltecWiKi markdown/docs repo is on GitHub, the schematic files themselves are hosted on Heltec's resource CDN, not in-repo.

Every link checked 2026-09-27.

Hand this device to your agent. Everything on this page, as clean Markdown and JSON: specs, shops, prices, design files, parts.

What still needs checking
  • Match PCB revision, R2/R8 memory variant, radio band and display to firmware. A source target does not establish that every release includes its binary.
  • The store’s generic R8 filename omits the upstream OLED/TFT suffix. Use the exact supported target for the physical board; OLED builds do not imply touchscreen hardware.
  • Battery maximum differs: store 4.4 V, R2 and R8 datasheets 4.2 V. Confirm limits for the exact revision rather than applying the higher value universally.
  • The V4.2 datasheet and store use different temperature ranges and low-power conditions; these are not independent whole-device measurements.
  • R8 datasheet’s revision table is marked internal beta and contains mixed revision labels. Display-free contents and current production revision still require SKU confirmation.
  • Store package-size metadata differs from board dimensions. Battery, GNSS and enclosure inclusion depend on the chosen bundle.
  • R8 MeshCore release availability was not established; the maker page describes temporary firmware pending integration.
