Seeed XIAO nRF52840 Build something that runs for a long time on a small battery and talks over Bluetooth.
Build & code nRF52840 Bluetooth LE Low power
Bring along USB-C cable, a lithium cell if you want it portable, and Arduino, MicroPython or CircuitPython.
Keep in mind No Wi-Fi at all, and the base board has no IMU or microphone — that is the Sense variant.

Open hardwareSeeed publishes the full KiCad project, schematic PDF, pinout sheet and 3D/mechanical files for the base XIAO nRF52840 directly on its wiki file server (no GitHub hardware repo).
Research notes All files.seeedstudio.com URLs curl-verified 200. Entry covers the base XIAO nRF52840 (non-Sense, non-Plus) v1.2 hardware; the wiki page also hosts separate schematic/KiCad packages for the Sense and Plus variants which are not the same PCB.

No matching specification. Try a chip name, connector or feature.
What still needs checking The maker publishes no battery runtime for the board, only a standby current figure. No transmit power or range figure is given for the Bluetooth radio on the product wiki.

Source & revision notes Maker listing checked Sep 18, 2026. Detailed documentation reviewed Sep 18, 2026. Not hands-on tested.
Price is a dated listing; confirm with the maker.
The maker's own page disagrees with itself on the Bluetooth version: the feature list says Bluetooth 5.0 while the comparison table on the same page says Bluetooth LE 5.4. We have not resolved which is correct and neither should you assume.
This entry covers the base XIAO nRF52840. The Sense variant adds a six-axis LSM6DS3TR-C IMU and a PDM microphone, and the Plus variants change the pin count — do not apply their specifications here.
The sub-5 µA standby figure is the maker's typical value for the bare board, not for a build with peripherals attached.
The Bluetooth version is stated two different ways on one page (5.0 in the features, 5.4 in the table). We record both rather than pick one.
Most figures on this page are presented as a four-way comparison across nRF52840, Sense, Plus and Sense Plus. Confirm the column before quoting.
